*Background
Children with Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection are at high risk of developing active tuberculosis. As Infected children aged younger than 2 years have a 20% risk of progression to active disease, early diagnosis and treatment with Isoniazid is essential.
But, diagnosis is hindered by the inaccuracy of the tuberculin skin test .
For that reason, authors used more accurate T cell-based test of infection to enhance diagnosis by optimizing interpretation of the TST results.
