Lookism is discrimination or prejudice based on person`s physical appearance. The more balanced and good-looking, the more preferred. Since people have seen themselves reflected on a mirror, they started judging external features of themselves and those of others. Many people regard beauty as one of the most investable things. Some might go on a diet to lose their weight, and others might buy cosmetics to make theirselves up. However, Lookism could not be an affirmative term because most of the bodily appearances are born into rather than determined by peoples own will.

JiHan Song, a korean poetess, said that before men were divided into males and females, the handicapped were separated from the non-handicapped as called the normal. However, Lookism is a little bit different. These days, it is referred to a term for discriminating the bad-looking from the good-looking. It is certainly used for prejudging between the normal. There is no doubt that it is another wrong to torment any human-beings.

Scholars of evolutionary psychology, a branch of social psychology, insisted on their theories about attraction of the beauty. They explained that physical beauties are clues which represent ones better genetic traits. As for females, if they are beautiful, they must be fertile which males want their partner to be. As for males, if they are tall, their fertilizing power must be strong which their wives want them to have
