Prepare aniline from nitrobenzene using iron and hydrochloric acid, and understand the principle of the amination reaction, one of the reactions of various organic compounds.
3. Theoretical Background
1) Reduction
Let's look at the meaning of reduction, an aniline synthesis method. First of all, reduction in the dictionary sense refers to a chemical change that returns an oxidized material to its original state. In a general narrow sense, it refers to the case where hydrogen is applied or oxygen is given, but broadly, it is said to have been reduced when electrons are obtained. In summary, the reaction of obtaining electrons, the reaction of obtaining hydrogen, the reaction of breaking bonds with oxygen, and the reaction of decreasing oxidation number are reduction reactions.
