1.Abstract
By experiment, understand the concept of the COD and the method of measuring and relate it to the water pollution.

2.Introduction
1) DO, BOD, COD, TOC : the index of the water pollution
∙BOD(Biochemical Oxygen Demand) : It is the amount of the oxygen that is needed for the aerotropic microorganism’s separation of the organic compounds in water. It measure indirectly the amount of the organic compounds through the concentration change of the DO, dissolved oxygen in water at the microorganism’s separation of the organic compounds. The BOD indicates the demanded oxygen for purifying by oxidative digestion of the organic compounds in water for 5 days with ppm.
