According to data published by the Ministry of Foreign affairs of Japan, there has been a rapid growth of direct investment from Japan to India for the past 15 years. Starting with 29.8 billion yen in 2005, it became 377 billion yen which is more than 12 times bigger than the amount invested during the first year. These hefty investments provided by the government of Japan, the bank of Japan, and international agencies have been used for the development of infrastructure in India.
