Introduction
Griffith University has established a four and a half star teaching hotel to give knowledge and skills to students, who have studied tourism and hospitality since 2002. Their customers purpose to stay at the hotel can be separated into two groups, which are business and pleasure. The hotel has provided services and facilities such as a wireless internet service for business traveller and a tour booking service for the pleasure traveller. As a result there will be different needs according to their purpose to stay. Accordingly, the hotel should prepare customer-oriented facilities for high customer satisfaction and increased revenue.
The research was done through survey and IPA analysis by event and facilities management of Griffith University Hotel for development of their service and facilities. They had requested a survey to business and pleasure travellers to know the specific level of satisfaction and importance of facilities and to find differences in the results between two types of travellers. Moreover, facilities were separated into four parts; performing well, need of attention, over-resourced and no issue.
