This experiment is designed to investigate the relationship between fluid velocity and flow conditions to understand the role of “Reynolds Number” in fluid mechanics.
3. Result
I complete the Result sheet by the following procedure.
Temperature: 16℃
Diameter d: 2cm = 0.02m
Cross-sectional area(m2) = pi*d2/4 (m2) = pi*10-4 (m2)
Flow rate (m3/sec) = Change volume (ml) unit to m3, and divide time => volume×10-6/time (m3/sec)

5. Factors of error
B. Human error
Many of the procedure should be proceeded by eye of human. It may be very small, but human error might have occurred when measuring the volume, time and flow.
In laminar flow, the flow of ink is clearly straight, and in turbulent flow, the flow of ink is clearly spread out. Therefore, it is easy to determine the time when to measure the volume because the two flows have a clear change even when judged by the eye, and the experimental value of the Reynolds number actually falls within the theoretical range.
