본문내용
72.8 Million votes. The number of votes that President Donald Trump received in 2020 US election is hard to ignore. Although most major media outlets declared Joe Biden the winner of the election, it is still noteworthy that there are millions of US citizens who cast their ballots for Trump, unlike the media had predicted. According to exit poll data, Trump’s share of votes increased almost 6 percent (31.1%) from 2016 (25.9%).1 Among African Americans, he gained 4 percentage points, with Hispanic and Latinos he was up 3 percentage points, and Asian Americans, 5 percentage points.2 The overall data indicates Trump’s popularity rate has improved regardless of race, gender, or nationality. This is far different from how most major portrayed Trump while in office; as a ‘racist’ and ‘illegitimate president’.Especially, this presidential election highlights well about how news media are divided over the ‘Trump’sresponse of the outcome.’
