19 years ago, Bill Flanigan and Robert Daniel lived together as a gay couple. However, California law did not allow them to legally wed. One day, on a trip to Washington, Robert had a medical emergency. An ambulance had to rush him to the hospital. And when they arrived, Bill immediately asked to talk with Robert’s doctor, but the hospital denied his request. They said Bill was not part of Robert’s family. Robert died few days later. Surprisingly, this tragic story is what’s happening in Korea in 2020.
