Descriptive and predictive studies were employed. The research is mainly concerned with finding out how many number of carton sizes would best optimize the total order-fulfillment cost. Moreover, they studied the case deeper to find out what dimensions (length, width, and, height) for each size of AE (automatically erected) and MB (manually built) cartons would fulfill the goal.
In addition, at the end of the research, the researchers attempted to predict the amount of cost savings their solution would bring when it is employed.
