1. What is Biodiversity and Global Warming?

1-1 : Biodiversity

Climate change has changed not only people living on Earth but also living things. For example, global warming is causing tropical plant habitats to rise further north, and glaciers are melting away and polar bear habitats are disappearing. To prevent this, the UN adopted the Convention on Biological Diversity in 1992.
In Article 2 of the Convention on Biological Diversity, "biological diversity refers to the variation between species or between species and their ecosystems from any resource, including land, sea, other aquatic ecosystems and ecological complexes."
Biodiversity ranges from biodiversity on Earth to biodiversity in the ecosystem where life resides, and from genes held by life. Species diversity refers to the degree of diversity of species within a region, which is taxonomic diversity.
