This movie is all about “Be patient, and never fear to explore,” and this is what the plot goes like. An American best seller author Frances Mayes, suddenly gets divorced and loses her house. Her friends, who thought the situation was too miserable to look at, suddenly offer her a flight ticket to Tuscan, Italy. She buys a beautiful villa there and starts her new life. Remodeling her house, she meets wonderful construction workers and makes many other new relationships including the neighbors and a realtor. At the first time, she goes through some hardships getting adapted to the new environment as a foreigner. However, after a series of events, she finally finds it pretty stable and happy to live there surrounded by lots of people. She even finds her new love at the end. The end of the movie is somewhat obvious, but I believe it contains lots of cultural aspects that are worth analyzing.
