Donald Trump was elected as the 45th president of the United States (U.S.) of America. Almost the entire world was shocked because of the election results, even though South Korea, despite the fact that it is located halfway across the globe. (Kim, 2016). What makes the election result of the other side of the earth to become the front-page news in South Korea? This paper argues that the political globalization affects the power dynamic and the degree of influence between countries on the social, cultural, economic levels. Globalization also gave birth to new political actors such as the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organization (WTO), prestigious individuals such as the UN secretary-general, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and international corporations. These political actors are individuals and groups that have direct or indirect influences on political matters (Foley, 2016).
