There are many types of religion around the world. The world can be divided into two major areas of religion: Eastern and Western religion. Both eastern and western religions greatly impacted history and still do today. Eastern religions are practiced in countries such as China, India, Japan, Southeast Asia and examples include Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism. On the other hand, Western religions are those religions originated in most other countries outside of the East such as the Americas and throughout Europe. Examples of Western religions are Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Zoroastrianism. However, there are similarities and differences between those two religions in terms of ⅰ) the role of god, ⅱ) the way to reach the afterlife, and ⅲ) the understanding of suffering.
