본문내용
Heroes are made-figures to be admired by people. In this view, Beowulf and Sir Gawain are good examples for heroes. Both are willing to face a lot of danger in spite of fears and willing to sacrifice their own life for the life of another. However, these two heroes can be compared in many ways. One of comparisons would be their appearance and personality. Beowulf is described as the having “the strength of thirty/in the grip of each hand...” (line 380) and he sometimes boasts his past battles to show off his strength, while Sir Gawain has normal human’s figure and is humble as he says, “My body, but for your worth, is barren” (line 357). Also when comparing the two figures, we can see some differences between the two characters. Firstly, Beowulf is a prince, while Sir Gawain is a mere knight.
