Clive Staples Lewis (29 November 1898 – 22 November 1963), commonly referred to as C. S. Lewis was a novelist, poet, academic, medievalist, literary critic, essayist, lay theologian, and Christian apologist from Belfast, Ireland. According to his memoir Surprised by Joy, Lewis had been baptized in the Church of Ireland at birth, but fell away from his faith during his adolescence. Owing to the influence of Tolkien and other friends, at the age of 32 Lewis returned to the Anglican Communion.
To me, it was very meaningful that he converted from atheism. The reason I picked him for this report, even though he was not the same denomination as me is this. The fact that he was an atheist attracted me. He was the example of a transformed atheist who lived out his faith in the midst of an aggressively secular scholastic environment . Lewis maintained a lifelong compassion for those who struggle to accept Jesus as their savior.참고자료
