2012년 북한의 음악공연과 樂 (Musical Performance and Pleasure(樂) in 2012, North Korea)

초록

본고에서는 김일성시대에 창립되었으며 중앙 음악단체 중 가장 역사가 오래된 국립교향악단과 김정일시대 말기인 2009년에 창립된 것으로 보이는 은하수관현악단, 그리고 김정은시대인 2012년에 창립된 모란봉악단이 2012년에 모두 같은 제명으로 연주했던 조선로동당창건 67주년 기념음악회를대상으로 북한 음악공연 내용의 변화양상과 북한 음악정치의 허실을 추론하였다.
우선, 국립교향악단은 북한의 대표적인 관현악곡을 연주해왔던 정통클래식연주에서 벗어나 새롭게 창작, 편곡된 음악을 레퍼토리에 넣었을 뿐만 아니라협연자로 여성연주자를 세웠고 악기 연주자들에게 노골적으로 “우리 장군님제일이야”라는 노래를 부르는 파격을 시도한 것으로 보아 기존의 국립교향악단에서 볼 수 없었던 변화된 연주형태라고 할 수 있다. 다음으로, 2009년에 창립된 은하수관현악단은 국립교향악단과는 달리 기본적으로 배합관현악편성을 하며, 새롭게 창작된 레퍼토리를 적극적으로 수용하되, 모란봉악단처럼 화려한 퍼포먼스를 보여주지는 않은 팝스오케스트라의 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 은하수관현악단의 연주곡목에서 기악연주는 세 곡에 불과한 것으로 보아대중음악의 클래식한 연주 형태, 혹은 세미클래식의 연주를 지향하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 은하수관현악단의 연주에서는 장중함과 엄숙함도 찾아볼 수 있으나, 대체로 가벼운, 그리고 사람들이 쉽고 재미있게 들을 수 있는크로스오버 공연물로 채워지고 있었다. 마지막으로 모란봉악단의 공연은 일반적인 음악연주회장에서 하기 보다는 무대 중앙과 양쪽에 총 세 개의 스크린과 화려한 조명, 그리고 무대 장치 등을 설치할 수 있고, 대규모 인원을 수용할 수 있는 체육관 같은 곳에서 이루어졌으며, 경음악연주와 성악, 그리고 퍼포먼스가 결합된 연주형태를 띠었다.
고난의 행군 이후 주체 100년 시대의 가부장적이고 남성 중심적인 북한사회는 1990년대 보천보전자악단의 미녀 가수들처럼 어깨를 들어내는 화려한 드레스를 입고 여성성과 젊음을 과시하면서 희천속도에 강제된 북한남성의 눈과 귀를 사로잡을 젊은 여성 연예인을 요구하였으며, 그 결과 2012년 모란봉악단을 배출하였다. 이들의 공연을 통해 10년 전 남한 아이돌가수의 공연을보고 느꼈던 부러움과 낯설음을 해소하고 북한의 과학 기술력을 대내외적으로 과시할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 신유교주의국가로 평가받는 북한의 음악정치와 유교의 왕도정치의 핵심인 여민동락(與民同樂)을 위한 악정은 일정부분상관성이 있어 보이나, 북한의 음악정치는 인민들에게 강요한 음악적 즐거움이며, 음악을 인민통제와 교화의 수단으로 사용하는 정치 수단일 뿐이다.

영어초록

In this paper, the changes of musical performances information and the true and falsehood of politics using music in North Korea was inferred focusing on musical performances for 67th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of North Korea,in which three musical groups of, the oldest National Symphony Orchestra among all other musical groups and founded in Kim, Il-sung era, 2009, Unhasu (the Milky Way)orchestra, presumably established at the end of Kim, Jong-il era, and Moranbong Band founded in Kim Jong-un era, 2012, were playing together under same title of the aforementioned event.
First, the National Symphony Orchestra of DPRK which has been playing leading orchestral music put newly created, arranged music on the music repertoire away from traditional classic music, as well as selecting female soloist performer, and let the instrumentalist to blatantly sing the song of "Our general is the best, sir," which is unprecedented attempts, thus it is regarded as changed form of performance that never has been seen in the National Symphony Orchestra.
Then, Unhasu Orchestra founded in 2009 basically organized the combined orchestra unlike the National Symphony Orchestra and actively embraced the newly created repertoire, but showed some pops orchestra not like the brilliant, luxurious performance of Moranbong band performances. Seeing only three instrumental music in Unhasu orchestra repertoire, it can be seen that they pursue classical forms of popular music, or the performance of semi-classical music. Thus, the majesty and solemnity were found in the Unhasu orchestra performance, though generally it's repertoire was filled with mild, fun and easy to hear crossover performances. Finally, the performances of Moranbong band were held, rather than the typical music concert hall stage, but in some kind of gym where it has stage in the middle, total three screens and colorful lighting on both sides, and where stage decorative equipment can be installed, and where they can accommodate a large number of audiences, and the performance took the form of a combination of light instrumental music, vocal music, and performance.
After arduous March, patriarchal and male-dominated North Korea's Society in the 100 years juche (national identity) era required the young female entertainer celebrities like the beautiful female singers of Bochonbo Electronic Ensemble, who show off youth and feminity wearing bare-shouldered, colorful dress, so that they could capture the sense of eyes and ears of the North Korean man who were forced by speedy labor of Huichon Dam, the result was the birth of Moranbong Band. Their performances could have relieved their envy and unfamiliarity they felt watching South Korean idol singer's concert 10 years ago and could have been able to show off North Korea's science and technology both internally and externally. However, neo-Confucian rated North Korea's politics of music and yomin-dongrak (adjusted to enjoyment with people, 与民同樂) that is the core of royal politics looks correlated in some part, but North Korea's politics of music is only the forced musical fun to the people, and nothing but a political tool to control and correct the people.
