교육학 분야 영성연구의 동향과 과제 -2000년부터 2011년까지 발표된 국내논문을 중심으로- (Educational Research Trend and Implications on Spirituality)

초록

본 연구는 교육학 분야 영성연구의 최근 동향과 후속과제를 살펴보기 위하여, 2000년 1월 이후 2011년 12월까지 국내에서 발표된 학위 및 학술지 논문 총 237편을 연구내용 및 대상, 방법 및 형식을 중심으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 영성연구는 교육학 분야 중 ‘교수이론/교육방법/교수법’과‘교육철학/사상’ 분야에서 주로 이루어졌으며 영성에 대해 종교적인 차원에서 접근하는 경향이 상대적으로 우세했고, 연구대상으로는 성인기에 그리고 연구방법론적으로는 이론연구에 집중되는 경향이 있었다. 논문의 형식으로는 석사학위논문의 형식으로 발표된 논문이 다수였고 학술지논문의 경우에는 종교지향적 성격을 지닌 학술지에 게재되는 경우가 많은 것으로 파악되었다. 이러한 동향 분석을 바탕으로, 교육학 분야에서의 영성연구를 위한 후속과제로 영성연구의 주제 확산, 학습자 및 교사 대상 연구의 확대, 방법론의 다원화를 제안하였다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is two-fold: (1) to review recent educational researches on spirituality in terms of research area, perspective, subject, methodology and publication type;and (2) to suggest future studies. For this study, 237 researches in Korea were reviewed and analyzed by using descriptive statistics. As results of this study, the recent researches on spirituality can be summarized into six major findings: (1) many of the reviewed studies appeared to be studies on ‘teaching theory’ and ‘educational philosophy’; (2) many studies were drawn from religious perspectives; (3) research subjects were mostly adults; (4) major focus of the reviewed studies was to theorize/conceptualize spirituality; (5) studies on spirituality mostly appeared in master degree thesis rather than doctoral dissertation; and (6) relatively few studies were published in religion-neutral journals. Therefore, it is argued that, future research on spirituality needs to pay more attention for diversifying and expanding research themes, perspectives, subjects and methodologies.
