초록

다큐멘터리에서 인터뷰는 ‘사실의 증언’으로서 매우 중요한 의미가 있다. TV는 물론 영화와 OTT 등 영상 콘텐츠의 홍수 속에서 다큐멘터리 인터뷰 또한 다양한 미학적 시도를 하고 있다. 본 연구는 넷플릭스 오리지널 다큐멘터리 380여 편을 전수조사하여 인터뷰 미장센이 돋보이는 작품 다섯 편을 선정해 인터뷰이의 시선과 자세, 구도 등이 다큐멘터리 안에서 어떻게 작동하고 있는지 분석했다. 인터뷰이의 시선을 정면 응시와 사선 응시로 나누어 진행해 다큐멘터리의 서사를 견고히 하는가 하면 인터뷰이의 자세, 카메라 구도를 통해 시청자의 몰입을 강하게 유도하고 있다. 글로벌 OTT 중심의 다큐멘터리 소비시장에서 다큐멘터리에서의 인터뷰 미장센이 중요해지고 있음을 알 수 있다.

영어초록

In a documentary, an interview has a very important meaning as a 'testimony of facts'. Amid the flood of video content such as TV as well as movies and OTT, documentary interviews are also experimenting with various aesthetics. This study conducted a full investigation of 380 Netflix original documentaries, and selected five works that feature interview mise-en-scène and analyzed how the interviewee's gaze, posture, and composition work within the documentary. By dividing the interviewee's gaze into a frontal gaze and an oblique gaze, the narrative of the documentary is solidified, and the viewer's immersion is strongly induced through the interviewee's posture and camera composition. It can be seen that interview mise-en-scène in documentary is becoming more important in the global OTT-centered documentary consumption market.
