‘네/예’의 담화 기능과 운율 특성 (Discourse Functions and Prosodic Features of ‘ne/ye’(네/예))

초록

The aim of this study is to investigate the discourse functions and prosodic features of ‘ne/ye’ realized in the spoken language based on the large scale speech corpus. The discourse functions of ‘ne/ye’ are divided into the expression of reaction to other people’s utterances and the progressive expression of one’s own utterance. Discourse functions that respond to other people’s speech are ‘positive’, ‘response to a call’, ‘listening courteously’, ‘request to say again’, ‘questioning’. The discourse functions that advances one’s own speech are ‘utterance initiation’, ‘utterance closing’, ‘interruption’, ‘maintenance of utterance’, ‘emphasis’, ‘request responses and actions’, ‘hesitation’. The prosodic features realized in ‘ne/ye’ are analyzed considering the prosodic factors such as ‘position in utterance’, ‘tonal patterns’, ‘duration’. Based on these factors, The features and roles of prosodic related to each discourse functions of ‘ne/ye’ are anlayzed. In analyzing the prosodic features of ‘ne/ye’, which was less interested in the previous studies, it is meaningful to grasp clearly the role of the prosodics involved in the discourse functions realized in ‘ne/ye’.
