지역 설화의 콘텐츠 개발 방안 연구 - 퍼스의 3항성 범주 모델을 활용한 <곰나루 설화> 분석과 개발 (A Study on the Contents Development Plan for Local Folkales: Analysis and development of using Peirce’s triadic category model)

초록

오늘날 지역 설화, 즉 전설은 지역민의 삶⋅사유⋅문화⋅역사가 응축된, 지역의 정체성을 담지한 주요 문화 자산으로 인정받고 있다. 지역의 문화 산업과 관련된 각종콘텐츠 개발에 있어서 전설은 스토리텔링의 원천 자료이자 모티프나 배경이 되며, 개발의 논리를 제공하는 주요 근거가 되고 있다. 지역 설화를 토대로 한 콘텐츠 개발이활성화되고 있지만 정작 중요한 개발 방안이나 방향에 대한 심화되고 체계적인 논의는 제대로 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 개발의 원천인 설화에 대한 분석 방법과 설화를토대로 콘텐츠의 개발 방법이 상호 유기적이며 통합된 체계를 이루어야 할 것이다. 본논의에서는 지역 설화 텍스트의 분석과 설화의 콘텐츠 개발에 대한 통합적이고 체계적인 모델을 구상하기 위해 퍼스의 3항성 범주 모델을 활용하였다. 3항성 범주를 활용한 서사 분석 틀을 충청도의 대표적 지역 설화라 할 수 있는 <곰나루 설화>에 적용하여 분석하고, 분석 틀을 연계⋅확장하여 콘텐츠 개발 방안을 기획하였다.
퍼스의 3항성 범주 모델은 세계와 인간 사고방식을 이해하기 위한 보편 범주로 어떤 대상의 존재 자체, 관계성, 법칙성을 파악할 수 있는 좋은 도구가 된다. 1차 분석은전설 서사의 형식적 특성을 파악하고, 2차 분석은 전설 서사와 지시 대상과의 관계를파악하고, 3차 분석은 1차 분석과 2차 분석을 결합하여 종합적 의미를 파악하는 것이다. 이러한 분석은 전설의 서사 텍스트 분석에 그치는 것이 아니라 콘텐츠 개발의 체계적 방안으로 확장될 수 있다. 즉 1차성 분석을 토대로 설화의 스토리텔링 차원에서의 개발 방안을 탐색하고, 2차성 분석을 토대로 전설의 지시 대상 차원에서의 개발 방안을 탐색하고, 3차성 분석을 토대로 전설의 의미와 해석 차원에서의 개발 방안을 탐색하는 것이다. 이 같은 설화 분석과 개발의 통합적 방법은 개별 사례 연구의 한계를벗어나 다양한 사례에 적용할 수 있는 실천적인 개발 모델이 될 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

Today, local folktales, legends are recognized as major cultural assets that hold the identity of the region, condensing the lives, thoughts, culture, and history of the local people. In the development of various contents related to the local cultural industry, legends are the source of storytelling, motifs and backgrounds, and are the main basis for providing the logic of development. Although contents development based on local folktales are being promoted, in-depth and systematic discussions on important development plans or directions are not being properly conducted. Based on the analysis method of the folktale, which is the source of development, and the content development method should form a mutually organic and integrated system. In this paper, Peirce’s triadic category model was used to devise an integrated and systematic model for analysis of local folktale text and content development of folktale. The narrative analysis framework using the triadic category was applied and analyzed to <folktale of Gomnaru>, a representative regional story of Chungcheong-do, and a content development plan was planned by linking and expanding the analysis framework.
Peirce’s triadic category model is a universal category for understanding the world and human way of thinking, and it is a good tool to understand the existence, relationship, and law of an object. The first analysis is to identifies the formal characteristics of the legend narrative, the second analysis is to identifies the relationship between the legend narrative and the referent, and the third analysis is to identifies the comprehensive meaning by combining the first analysis and the second analysis. This analysis is not limited to analyzing the narrative text of the legend, but can be extended to a systematic method of content development. In other words, the development plan at the storytelling level of the legend is explored based on the primary analysis, the development plan at the referent level of the legend is explored based on the secondary analysis, and the meaning and interpretation level of the legend is explored based on the tertiary analysis. This integrated method of narrative analysis and development is expected to be a practical development model that can be applied to various cases beyond the limitations of individual case studies.
