유치원 교원 양성 과정에 대한 비판적 논의 : 목적과 내용 그리고 평가 지표에 대하여 (Critical Discussion on the Kindergarten Teacher Education: purpose, curriculum and evaluation criteria)

초록

우리나라의 교원양성과정은 2010년대 이후 주기적 평가를 바탕으로 양적 팽창을 넘어 질 제고에도 관심을 기울이기시작했다. 그 동안 교원양성과정은 교사들의 바람직한 자질을 함양하고 전체적인 교원의 수준을 높이는 데 기여해왔다. 그럼에도 불구하고 교원양성과정은 여전히 논란거리에 직면해 있다. 예컨대, 급격한 사회 변화의 관점에서교원양성과정의 목적이 적합한지, 그 내용이 이론적인 내용을 포함하고 있어야 하는지 아니면 좀 더 실제적인 부분에초점을 맞추어야 하는지 등이다. 이런 맥락에서 이 글은 교원양성과정의 목적이 고등교육의 이념과 일맥상통하는것이며, 그 내용은 이론과 실제 사이의 균형을 추구해야 한다고 주장한다. 보다 구체적인 측면에서 교원 양성 과정의목적과 내용에 대한 검토는 교원양성과정 그 자체의 변화, 지식의 성격이나 교직의 특성에 대한 검토를 시도한다.
이론 논의는 유치원 교사 양성 과정에 대해서도 평가 지표의 적절성뿐만 아니라 학제의 통합이나 교직 과목의 변화등과 같은 시사점을 가지고 있다.

영어초록

Since the 2010s, Korea's teacher education course has begun to pay attention to improving quality beyond quantitative expansion based on periodic evaluations. In the meantime, the teacher education has contributed to cultivating the desirable qualities of teachers and to raising the overall level of teachers. Nevertheless, the teacher education still faces controversy and some dangers. For example, whether the purpose of the teacher education is appropriate in view of rapid social change, should its content include theoretical content, or should it focus on more practical aspects. In this context, this article argues that the purpose of the teacher education is in line with the idea of higher education, and its content should seek a balance between theory and practice.
More specifically, reviewing the purpose and content of the teacher cultivating process requires an understanding of the changes in the teacher training process itself, the nature of knowledge, or the characteristics of the teaching profession. This discussion has implications for the kindergarten teacher education, as well as the adequacy of assessment indicators and the integration of interdisciplinary systems and changes in pedagogy subjects.
