무라카미 하루키의 『기사단장 죽이기』론 －여성들과의 관계성에 나타난 작가의 역사인식－ (Murakami Haruki's 『Killing commendatore』　: Author's historical perception of relationships with women)

초록

본 논문은 하루키의 장편소설인 『기사단장 죽이기』를 고찰하였다. 등장 인물과 여러 상황을 통해 작가자신의 역사인식이 드러난 작품으로, ‘나’라는 인물을 통해 개인의 역사를 마주하고 해결해가는 과정을 보여주었다. 역사는 개인과 사회에 존재하며 각각의 역사는 국가라는 역사적 사건 안에 포함되어 있다. ‘나’는 과거를 정리하는 것으로 새로운 변화를 받아들이고자 한다. 하루키는 한 국가의 역사 또한 과거를 제대로 마주하고 앞으로 나아가야 한다는 것을 제시하고 있다. ‘나’는 자신의 역사를 올바로 마주한 뒤 아내인 ‘유즈’와의 관계를 극복한다. 또한 ‘무로’라는 딸을 얻은 두 사람은 앞으로의 세대에 다가올 역사에 대한 자세 또한 제시하고 있다.
‘나’의 과거 정리 중 발견한 「기사단장 죽이기」라는 그림은 중국에 자행한 일본의 무자비한 대학살을 상징한 것으로 실제 역사를 소재로 사용한 것에 의의를 갖는다. 일본이 전쟁과 같은 거대한 폭력의 가해자라는 사실을 잊지 말아야 하는 점을 제시한 것이라 사료된다. 작가는 역사를 통해 받은 피해와 상처, 그것을 인지하지 못하면 앞으로의 역사는 밝지 못하다는 것을 ‘나’와 주변 여성인물의 관계를 통해 역사인식을 보여주었다고 짐작할 수 있다.

영어초록

The process of properly facing and solving an individual's history through the character “I” was enough to reveal what the writer was trying to say.
History exists both in individuals and in society, and each history is contained within the circumference of the historical event of a large society. Through the woman figure Yuzu and Muro, “I” experience is that organizing the past of “I” and accepting new changes is part of the country and society, and accepting both kinds of history is one of life. Through “I,” which eventually built up a general family figure with a family of wives and children, I was able to get a good grasp of Haruki's view of the new generation ahead.
Tomohiko, who also painted the painting 『Killing commdendatore』 described ‘Nanjing Massacre’ in very detail, showing the ultimate pain of the Japanese army, which had to carry out the inevitable massacre. Massive violence, such as war, has made us think that we need to recognize and recognize the past history at the same time as it has to disappear.
I think the author was able to show his historical awareness to heal the wounds he received and the moments he didn't recognize.
