초록

In this study, observation of the morphological characteristics of hair in the genitals of normal adults was performed using a scanning electron microscope. The results of comparative analysis of normal hair and pubic hair located on the human scalp showed that the pubic hair was gently thinned from the base close to the skin to the tip of the hair.
The diameter of the hair at the base was 168 ㎛, and the diameter at the tip was 10.5 ㎛. The findings of this study confirmed that the diameter of pubic hair was approximately twice that of normal hair on the human scalp. The pubic hair used in this study was 4.5 ㎛ long and had a discontinuous curve on the surface in the form of curly hair. The surface of pubic hair was covered with scales formed by cuticle cells. The distance between the scales formed in the direction of the long axis of the hair was approximately 2.5 ㎛. The results confirmed that the exposed scale spacing on the surface of pubic hair was narrower compared with that of the surface of normal hair. In conclusion, the findings of this study confirmed that the thickness of the hair adjacent to the skin of the pubic hair was thicker than that of normal hair, and it became sharply thinner toward the end.
