『양아록(養兒錄)』에 나타난 영유아기 격대교육의 내용에 대한 의미 분석 (Meaning Analysis on the Contents of Alternate-Generation Education for Infancy and Early Children of『Yang-A Rok』)

초록

『양아록』은 조선중기 유학자 묵재(默齋) 이문건(李文楗)이 유배지에서 16년간 손자를 양육하며 기록한 육아일기이다. 특히 『양아록』의 기록은 영유아기에 집중되어 조선시대 영유아기 격대교육을 고찰할 수 있는 귀중한 자료이기도 하다. 『양아록』에 나타난 영유아기 격대교육의 내용은 보양(保養), 효(孝), 예절(禮節), 성역할(性役割), 가문의식(家門意識), 권학(勸學)으로써, 인성의 기초가 형성되는 영유아기 격대교육의 안정성과 시대정신에 충실한 인성교육을 실천하고 있음을 보여준다. 또한 이문건이 손자를 양육하는 과정에서 끊임없는 성찰을 통해 교육을 실천하며 자기성장을 이루는 모습은 격대교육의 독특성을 잘 보여준다. 이는 현대 영유아 교육에 ‘인격적으로 만나는 가정교육의 복원’과 ‘양육을 위한 세대와 사회의 연대 필요성’ 및 ‘삶을 통한 영유아기 인성교육의 방향성’’을 시사하고 있다.

영어초록

『Yang-A Rok』 is a child care diary recorded by Muk jae Lee Mun-gun, who was a Confucian scholar who lived during the middle of the Joseon Dynasty, raising his grandson for 16 years in exile. The records of Yang-Arok concentrate specifically on infancy and children at an early age and are valuable materials for examining the alterate-generation education of infants and young children during the Joseon Dynasty. The contents of the infancy and children alterate-generation education shown in 『Yang-A Rok』 have to do with protection and upbringing, filial duty, manners, gender roles, family consciousness, and encouragement of learning, all of which show how education on the safety and spirit of infancy and on the formation of one’s identity is practiced. In addition, Lee Moon-Gun's self-growth by practicing education through constant reflection in the process of raising his grandson shows the uniqueness of alterate-generation education.
This suggests that the return to home education given with respect in contemporary infancy and early childhood education requires solidarity between generations in society for the sake of childcare and the orientation of infancy and early childhood character education through life.
