초록

This study is to survey the sword image expressed in classical poetry. Sword was sung as an object of worship in addition to mythical element of sword affected by in sword images in the ancient. Sword was an object of high spirit of poets and volition of saving country, and a choking mind was expressed through sword by poets when this volition failed. And sword was symbolized as good faith by giving and taking it as a symbol of friendship by poets. And sword was chanted as a dignity and prestige of kings. Sword symbolized a social position and dignity of its owner and was thought a belongings of nobles.
So sword's meaning was changed from military tools to justice, good faith, and dignity and sword has expanded a poetic spaces and images of poetry.
