온라인 시장과 오프라인 시장 사이의 균형가격과 거래시장 변환비용에 관한 연구 : 상품의 가격대와 상품군을 중심으로 (The Equilibrium Prices and Market Alteration Costs between Online and Offline Markets : Focusing On Product Types and Price Levels)

초록

온라인 시장이 급속히 성장함에 따라 오프라인 시장의 강력한 경쟁 시장으로 급부상하고 있는 상황에서 두 시장 간의 경쟁은 중요한 연구 주제로 다루어 질 수 있다. 그러나 실제 연구에서는 일부 특정 상품에 대해 두 시장 간의 단순한 가격비교를 제시하거나, 일부 선행연구에서 제시하고 있는 가격경쟁모델 또한 이론적 설명에 그치고 있는 수준이다. 이러한 점에서 본 연구는 실험상황을 통하여 두 시장에 대한 소비자의 반응을 알아보았고, 실험 결과를 토대로 두 시장 간 균형가격대를 제시하였다.연구결과 식료품을 제외한 의류, 컴퓨터, 전자관련 제품은 저가상품에서 온라인의 강세가 나타났으며, 고가 상품의 경우 오프라인 시장이 강세를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 구매방법변환에 소요되는 비용은 온라인에서 오프라인으로 이동하는데 소요되는 비용이 그 반대의 경우보다 훨씬 적게 드는 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

With the rapid growth of online market, the competition between online market and offline market has been keen. It may be considered as an important issue in the academic field of business. However, several previous studies on the competitions had focused on the simple comparison on the price levels of the two markets, or the competition models on the competition, suggested in previous studies, had just provided the theoretical explanation without empirical testimony. In this point, this study attempts to understand the responses of consumers on the competitions between the two markets through experimentation and to find equilibrium prices of both online and offline markets according to the types and price levels of products.
As the results, consumers show a high preference on online markets for the low price levels of clothes, computer parts, and electronic appliances, except food products, while offline markets take more competitive positions for the high price levels. The costs of market alteration from online to offline markets are much higher than the costs from off-line to on-line.
