초록

Issues of local festivals have been raised with the quality increase as it is behind of quantity increase. Thus, this study is to present the need of quality assessment which complements existing assessment structure that only focuses on quantity research to resolve the issues Especially, it is very important to assess the festivals in which most of the visitors are local residents. From this point of view, the study understands the relation between local festival and local residents through place attachment. For this purpose, in depth interview was conducted to Suwon residents who have been to Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival which is a representative festival of Suwon city more than 1 time. The process of local residents to form place attachment through festival was schematized and social sense of fellowship as an element to form place attachment was confirmed and influence variable as well as result variable was addressed by using qualitative research method.
