스토리텔링 미술교육이 청각장애학생의 자아정체감에 미치는 사례연구 (A Case Study of Storytelling Art Education on the Hearing Impaired Students’ Self-identity)

초록

이 연구는 청각장애학생을 대상으로 스토리텔링 미술교육을 적용하는 과정에서 나타난 청각장애학생의 자아정체감 변화 등을 제안하기 위하여 사례연구로 수행되었다. 이 연구를 위하여 2명의 청각장애 남학생에게 스토리텔링 미술교육을 약 2년 1개월 동안 진행하였다. 스토리텔링 미술교육의 영향력을 분석하기 위한 자료 수집과 전문가 집단을 통한 자료 분석에서 2개의 핵심주제와 4개의 핵심어가 나타났다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청각장애학생을 위한 스토리텔링 미술교육이 정체감 형성에 영향을 미친 결과는 시각 및 청각 등을 통한 통합적 표현방식을 제공하고 이를 학습하는 과정에서 사회성 발달과 자아정체감을 탐색할 수 있는 계기를 제공받았다. 둘째, 미래설계 및 삶의 원동력을 제공과 자아실현에 대한 고뇌와 깨달음을 통한 자아발견의 과정이 원동력으로 작용하였다. 이에 청각장애학생의 특성이 고려된 스토리텔링 미술교육은 청각장애학생의 자아정체감 형성에 긍정적인 영향을 제공하는 원동력으로 작용했음을 이 연구에서는 제안하고 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to describe the effects of storytelling art education on the hearing impaired students’ self-identity change. Two male students with hearing impairment participated in this study. Two research participants were receiving inclusive education at general high schools and wearing cochlear implants. The data collection for analyzing the influence of storytelling art education was conducted through document, interview, direct observation, participation observation, documentary, physical artifacts. In the learning attitudes, two contents and four concepts were derived from self-identity. The results of the study were that: (a) the characteristics of storytelling art education, which affected the change of attitude of hearing impaired students, became an opportunity to increase creativity thinking and learning comprehension through visual cues, interest, and direct experience; (b) the storytelling arts education for the hearing impaired students influenced the formation of identity. The result of this study is to provide integrated expression through visual and auditory, and provide an opportunity to explore social development and self-identity in the course of learning In addition, it provided the driving force of future design and life, and the process of self-discovery through agony and enlightenment of self-realization acted as a driving force. Therefore this study concluded that storytelling art education considering the characteristics of the hearing impaired students acted as a driving force to create the identity feeling, and to have a positive effect on the self-identity.
