초록

본 연구의 목적은 통상(通商) 관련 미국 내 여론의 특징을 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 통상 관련 미국 내 여론 동향을 살펴보고 나아가 정당일체감이 통상 관련 미국 내 여론에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 분석한다. 분석 결과는 통상 관련 여론은 미국 전역에 걸쳐 큰 차이가 없으며, 이념 성향, 교육 수준 등과 함께 정당일체감이 통상 관련 여론에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인들 중 하나임을 보여준다. 미국 유권자들은 정당일체감 등 정치적 선택 기준을 토대로 통상정책 및 통상 관련 이슈들에 대한 의견을 재조정하며, 이는 미국 정당 정치의 양극화 현상이 통상 관련 미국 내 여론에 투영되고 있음을 보여준다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the features of public opinion on trade in the United States. This study examines how public opinion on trade has changed over time and how it can be affected by party identification. The results of the analysis show that there is no significant difference in public opinion on trade across the United States, and party identification along with ideological orientation and level of education is one of the main factors influencing public opinion on trade. American voters adjust their opinions on trade policy and trade-related issues based on the political selection criteria such as party identification, which suggests that the polarization of American party politics influences public opinion on trade in the United States.
