초록

본 연구의 목적은 조부모에 대한 부모의 태도가 조부모-손자녀 친밀감을 매개로 유아기 자녀인성에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기도 소재 유아교육기관 유아반에 재원 중인 유아의 학부모 245명을 대상으로 전자 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모가 지각한 조부모에 대한 부모의 태도, 조부모-손자녀 친밀감, 자녀 인성 수준은 모두 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 조부모에 대한 부모의 태도, 조부모-손자녀 친밀감, 유아기 자녀 인성 간에는 모두 유의한 정적 상관관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 조부모에 대한 부모의 태도는 유아기 자녀 인성에 정적인 영향을 미치며 조부모-손자녀 친밀감의 매개효과가 유의하게 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과는 인성교육의 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있는 오늘날, 유아기 자녀의 인성 발달에 조부모에 대한 부모의 태도가 의미있는 교육모델임을 시사한다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 지닌다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of parents' attitude toward grandparents on their children's personalities in infancy through grandparent-grandchild intimacy. To this end, an electronic survey was conducted targeting 245 parents of children enrolled in nursery classes at early childhood educational institutions in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program. The main results of this study are as follows. First, parents' attitude toward grandparents, grandparent-grandchild intimacy, and children's character levels all appeared to be good. Second, parental attitude toward grandparents, grandparent-grandchild intimacy, and personality of children in infancy all showed significant positive correlations. Third, it was found that parents' attitudes toward grandparents have a positive effect on their children's personalities in infancy, and that the mediating effect of grandparent-grandchild closeness has a significant effect on their causal relationship. The results of this study have significance in that they suggest that parents' attitude toward grandparents is a meaningful educational model for the character development of their children in infancy today, when the importance of character education is being emphasized more.
