대학생의 스트레스와 자살생각 간의 관계에서 우울과 불안의 매개효과: 남녀 간의 차이를 중심으로 (The Mediating Effects of Depression and Anxiety on the Relationship between Stress and Suicidal Ideation of College Students: Focused on Gender Difference)

초록

본 연구는 대학생의 스트레스와 자살생각간의 관계에서 우울과 불안이 매개변인의 역할을 하는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 위해 본 연구에서는 대학생 376명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구도구는 지각된 스트레스 질문지, 우울과 불안 척도, 자살생각척도를 사용하였다. 자료분석을 위해 상관분석, 경로분석 및 다집단분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스트레스와 자살생각간의 관계를 우울이 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 스트레스와 자살생각간의 관계를 불안이 매개하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 불안과 자살생각간의 관계를 우울이 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 스트레스, 우울, 불안, 자살생각간의 경로에서 남녀간에 차이가 나타났다. 남학생은 불안에서 자살생각으로 가는 경로가 유의미하지 않은 것으로 나타났으나 여학생은 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 의의는 대학생의 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 여러 변인 중 스트레스, 우울, 불안간의 관계를 밝혀냈다는 점이다. 추후 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 예방 및 상담을 위한 연구가 이루어질 필요가 있다.

영어초록

This study aimed to examine how depression and anxiety may mediate the relationship between stress and suicidal ideation in college students. A sample of 387 college students completed measures of perceived stress, suicidal ideation, SCL-90R. The data was analysed by correlation analysis, path analysis and multiple group analysis. The results were as follows: First, a path model of a mediation role of depression was hypothesized and tested regarding the relationship between stress and suicidal ideation. Second, a path model of mediation role of anxiety was hypothesized and did not tested regarding the relationship between stress and suicidal ideation. Third a path model of a mediation role of depression was hypothesized and tested regarding the relationship between anxiety and suicidal ideation. Fourth, gender differences were tested regarding the path model. Male students didn’t show significant relationship between anxiety and suicidal ideation compare to female students. The implications of this study were that the variables regarding suicidal ideation investigated may be able to be used to create a model to help college students. However, the primary limitation of this study was the lack of an immediate, practical application of the results to the fields of either predication or counseling.
