거절 화행에 나타난 대화 전략 연구 (A Study on Conversational Strategies in Refusal Speech Acts)

초록

This study examines the strategies for refusal speech acts in spoken corpus from the point of view of [Problem Solving] and [Relationship Improving] according to types of conversation, using the spoken corpus. Two aspects to be considered include the aspect of [Problem Solving] related to the conflict itself, and the aspect of [Relationship Improving] related to human relations between speakers. The speech act of refusal can be differently expressed depending on which of them is considered as a priority in the complicated situation. As a result of this research, the conversational refusal is realized in the sequence of type of avoidance > type of domination > type of reconciliation in private conversation, and type of domination > type of avoidance > type of reconciliation in official conversation in the order of frequency. The [Relationship Improving] is preferred in private conversation and the [Problem Solving] attitude is regarded as a more important element in official conversation. Through this study, it has been confirmed that conversations have the function not only of transferring information, but also of maintaining human relationships.
