본 연구의 목적은 국내의 대학생을 대상으로 우리나라 학업상황에 적합한 학업지연 척도를 개
발하고 타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하는 것이다. 본 연구결과를 요약하면 같다. 첫째, 탐색적 요인분
석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 학업지연척도는 5가지 구인의 45문항이 선별되었다. 5가지 구인은
‘동기부여 부족(11문항)’, ‘게으름 및 습관(14문항)’, ‘완벽주의(5문항)’, ‘교육과정 및 과제 난이도
(10문항)’, ‘시간관리 계획 부족(5문항)’이며, 5점 리커트 척도이다. 본 학업지연 척도는 국외에서
개발된 학업지연 척도와 비교하여 몇 가지의 공통점과 차이점이 있었다. 둘째, 내적일관성 신뢰
도를 산출하였는데 Cronbach α는 .76∼.93으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학업지연 원인 척도와 선행연구들
에서 학업지연과 관련이 있다고 보고된 변인들 간의 상관을 산출하였는데, 대부분이 유의하였다.
학업지연과 부적상관을 보인 변인은 성실성, 학습몰입, 한 달 전부터 시험공부하기로 나타났다.
또 학업지연과 정적 상관을 보인 변인은 당일 날 밤에 시험공부하기, 하루 전에 시험공부하기로
나타났다. 이런 결과를 토대로 학업지연이 학업상황에서 부정적 특성을 야기할 수 있는 변인임이
확인되었다.

영어 초록

The purpose of this study was to develop a scale for academic procrastination and to
verify its validity and reliability for our undergraduate students in Korea. The results are as
follows. First, the new instruments of academic procrastination contain 45 items, a 5-point
Likert-scale format through exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis. The
scale measured the five factors of lack of motivation(11 items), laziness and habit(14 items),
perfectionism(5 items), curriculum and task difficulty(10 items), and lack of time management
planning(5 items). Similarities and differences in comparison with other scales of academic
procrastination were then discussed. Second, the internal consistency alpha coefficient was
found to be .76∼93. Third, academic procrastination showed significant correlation among
criterion-related validity variables. Academic procrastination was negatively correlated with
time preference to study for exams a month before, and learning flow and conscientiousness.
Academic procrastination was positively correlated with time preferences to study for exams
a night before and day by day.
