이 연구는 발달장애아동 부모의 교육에 대한 필요성, 부모교육내용과 방법, 앞으로 해결해야 하는 과제를 기존의 연구들을 개관하여 제시하고자 한다.
본 연구의 대상은 국내외 발달장애 부모교육에 관련된 대표적인 선행연구들을 중심으로 한 문헌연구이다. 기 발표된 연구문헌을 검토한 결과, 발달장애아동의 존재는 가족 전체뿐만 아니라 부모, 형제자매, 다른 가족 구성원들에게 다양한 형태의 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
우리나라의 발달장애아동 부모교육 내용은 심리적 안정과 가족의 기능을 강화는 내용, 아동의 문제행동을 다루는 방법, 아동의 지역사회 활동을 위한 내용, 장애아동의 졸업 후 생활과 관련된 내용이 중심이 되었다. 부모교육의 방법으로는 주로 면담과 상담, 강연회 등이었다.
해결되어야 하는 부모교육의 과제에는 보다 다양한 형태의 부모교육이 수행되고, 개개 가족의 특성에 부합되는 개별화된 부모교육 프로그램이 필요하며, 가족 전체를 대상으로 하는 내용과 방법, 아버지를 대상으로 하는 교육 등이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

영어 초록

This study was reviewed of related research and literature about parent education of children with developmental disabilities. The questions of the study were as follows. First, what effects of a child with developmental disabilities on parents and the family? Second, what significances on parent education for parent of a child with developmental disabilities? Third, what parent education content and method on parent education for parent of a child with developmental disabilities? Finally, what problems on parent education for parent of a child with developmental disabilities?
The results of the study were as follows:
First, parent education for parent of a child with developmental disabilities have that acquired psychological adaptation and child caring skill of parent; improved knowledges and abilities of parent about maximizing the effects of intervention and education for child with developmental disabilities; prevented the secondary problems of child with developmental disabilities.
Second, contents of parent education were founded that psychological well-being and strengthen the family's function, methods treat the problem behaviors of child, community activities of child, and post-secondary school activities of child.
Third, methods of parent education were interview, individual counseling, and lecture.
Fifth, problems of parent education were needed various methods of parent education, individualized program meet unique need of individual family, content and method for entire family, and education for father.
