이 연구의 목적은 중학교 신입생들이 학교생활에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 집단상담 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이 연구에 사용된 프로그램은 중학교 1학년 학생과 중학교 교사들을 대상으로 한 사전조사와 기존의 학교 관련 집단상담 프로그램과 이론적 배경을 바탕으로 만들어졌다. 연구 대상은 B시의 S중학교 1학년 학생들인데 자발적인 참가신청자를 선착순으로 남녀 각 12명씩 24명을 모은 다음, 실험집단과 통제집단에 남녀 각 6명씩을 무선배정하였다. 실험집단에는 3월 26일부터 27일까지 이틀 동안 60분씩 10회기의 프로그램을 실시하였고, 통제집단은 아무런 처치를 하지 않았다. 집단상담 프로그램 실시 전과 후에 실험집단과 통제집단 모두에게 대인관계능력 검사, 자기효능감 검사, 학교생활적응 검사를 실시하여 두 집단의 사전-사후 평균(M)과 표준편차(SD)를 구하였으며, 두 집단 간의 평균의 차이가 통계적으로 유의미한 것인지를 알아보기 위해 SPSS 10.0 프로그램으로 공변량 분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 통제집단은 유의미한 변화가 없었으나 실험집단은 대인관계능력, 자기효능감, 학교생활적응도가 모두 유의미하게 변화한 것으로 나타나 개발한 프로그램의 효과가 검증되었다.영어 초록
The purpose of this study is to develop a group counseling program for middle school freshmen’s school life adaptation and verify the effectiveness of the program. The program used in the study was developed by this researcher with a prior survey of 1st-grade middle school students and middle school teachers and theoretical backgrounds based and with existing school-related group counseling programs considered. For the purpose, this researcher surveyed 1st-grade students of S middle school located in Busan, all of whom were voluntary, and classified them into experimental and control groups, each consisting of 12 students, or 6 boys and 6 girls. The experimental group participated in total 10 sessions of the program with 60 minutes per session. Then the group was treated with group counseling for 2 days from March 26 to 27. During the same period, the control group didn’t receive any treatment. To verify the effectiveness of the program. the researcher applied interpersonal relation skill, self-efficacy and school life adaptation tests to both of the groups before and after group counseling. Data obtained here were statistically processed using SPSS 10.0 Program to know mean and standard deviation values for each of the measures. Difference between the experimental and control groups in the mean of scores from interpersonal relation skill, self-efficacy and school life adaptation tests were examined through ANCOVA with scores from the pre-test as covariates. Differences between the two groups in scores for the measures and in scores from pre- and post-tests were verified through t-test. Hypotheses used here were verified with the significance level of p<.05.Results of the study can be summarized as follows: First, those who participated in the group counseling program for school life adaptation showed a significant improvement in score for interpersonal relation skills than the control group who did not participate. Second, those who participated in the group counseling program for school life adaptation showed a significant improvement in score for self-efficacy than the control group who did not participate. Third, those who participated in the group counseling program for school life adaptation showed a significant improvement in score for school life adaptation than the control group who did not participate.
In conclusion, the group counseling program for school life adaptation is effective in improving the interpersonal relation skills, self-efficacy and school life adaptation of those who just became middle school students.
