Abstract
Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway 에서 wnt3a 와 wnt8 은 zebrafish의 tail outgrowth 를 promoting 시키는데 있어서 주도적인 역할을 한다. 이 논문에서는 tail developing stage 에서 wnt3a 와 wnt8 이 각각 어떠한 역할을 수행하고, Morpholino Oligonucleotide(MO) 를 사용해서 wnt3a/wnt8 을 동시억제시키면 tail development 를 막을 수 있다는 것을 보여주고자 한다. 또한 wnt3a 와 wnt8 이 notochord 와 somatic mesoderm 형성을 위해서 필요하다는 것을 staining genes 를 통해 알아보았다.

1. Introduction
Zebrafish 의 tailbud 에는 많은 미분화된 group 이 머물러 있는데, 그 group 은 multipotent 한 성질을 가지고 꼬리발달에 기여하기 위해 지속적으로 generation 이 된다. 이 후 tailbud 안에서는 cell fate specification, proliferation 그리고 morphogenetic movement 의 조화가 이루어져 tail structure 를 이루기 시작하며, 많은 signaling pathway 들 (BMP, FGF 그리고 wnt pathway ) 은 그러한 과정의 조절에 관여한다. 그 중 wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway 의 기작에 대해 말하자면, 먼저 signaling molecule 인 wnts 가 receptor 인 frizzled 와 co-receptor 인 LRP 에 binding 된다. 한편 cell 내부에는 ß-catenin 이라는 protein 이 있는데 이 protein 은 평상시에는 cadherin 이라는 cell-cell adherens junction 에 관여하는 protein 과 actin cytoskeleton 을 연결시킨다.
