초록

Reception of western art has been the core of korean
contemporary art discourse. Because, in Korean contemporary art,
western art have undetachable relationship. Reception of western
art in Korean art usually limits form and technique. And it insists
of respect which depends on trend of the same period western art.
But Minjoong art movement in 1980’s is divided foregoing that had
strong respect as art movement and postscript that was enforced
respect of political movement, however, important period related
reception of western art is foregoing.
Reception of western art in Minjoong art movement of
this foregoing period was going very different way and it was
important clue which carries out valuation that Minjoong art
movement is first regional and native art movement in Korean
contemporary art. Modern art cuts its position down itself as
putting from and aestheticism, but Minjoong art expands its
position as insisting on revival of content and theme. And
that gave a great impact on reception of western art. Concrete
illumination about how reception of western art. struggles with
following tradition of national art is demanded.
